Because of the generous support of people like YOU, the Islamic Food Bank makes a meaningful difference for people in need every day and helps communities to thrive.
Neighbor by neighbor, meal by meal, our programs make a difference for those in need and contribute to positive outcomes community-wide. In 2025 alone:
in food distributed
who help us reach our neighbors where they live, learn, and play
in corporate and institutional gifts
Financial support is critical to our work. Cash donations and grants are used to purchase a variety of nutritious offerings for those in need, especially items not typically available at other food banks and pantries.
Food purchases complement in-kind food donations and are tailored to our guests’ cultural preferences. Every donor dollar – whether direct or in-kind – is used to the full extent to expand nutritious food access for our neighbors.
We communicate regularly with our partners, who are well-established among underserved populations and provide other much-needed services regularly. As a result, we can respond quickly and nimbly to changing needs, desired food options, and cultural and social preferences.
“The Islamic Food Bank has helped us when food is low in our house. They offer a variety of food. I think it would be a tragedy if they stopped helping here.”
There are many ways to support the mission and work of the Islamic Food Bank. We are a volunteer-based organization and rely on community support. Whether you want to give your time, donate, partner with us, or contribute your talent in another way, we are grateful for your assistance.
“The most important aspect of my volunteering is that I am able to use the best of my time for the initiative of feeding hungry people within the community. When I go to downtown Toledo, I see a lot of young children and their mothers at the homeless shelters, and I feel content thinking that the bread that was donated today will feed them in the morning or afternoon… Without anybody noticing, I have built a strong bridge between Panera Bread and Family House in the last couple of years. InshaAllah, I would like to continue to be a part of this initiative of the Islamic Food Bank of Toledo, and hope more people will come forward to join this program.” -Mohammad Alam, Panera volunteer
