Community Partnerships

Our Community Partnership Model

At the Islamic Food Bank, we use the term “community partner” as a designation for organizations that we work with to ensure efficient and continuous food distribution to populations who are vulnerable to food insecurity.

We prefer to partner with organizations that have a well-established presence among the people they serve. Typically, they have staff on-site and are already providing other much-needed services. Because of their deep knowledge of the groups they serve, they understand any nuances in the way that food distribution needs to occur.

We also want to meet our guests where they live, learn, and play – they should not have to travel for food access. Our community partnership model works well because it is nimble, flexible, and continually responsive to what our guests need and request.

Hear from Our Partners

“We began our partnership with (the Islamic Food Bank) in April 2020… We were struggling to re-stock and meet everyone’s needs. A Sunshine board member introduced us to (the Food Bank), which was a true blessing. Ever since then, our pantry has been stocked plentifully. We’ve received fresh produce, meat, and dairy products – things that aren’t as easy to stock. The volunteers at IFBT are amazing. Everyone shares kindness and willingness to help wherever we need it… We are so grateful for this amazing partnership and would highly encourage others to get involved.” –Lori Richard, Sunshine Communities
