S&G Stores Day of Thanks and Giving – 2024

Last week, IFB staff and volunteers were grateful to attend the 7th annual S&G Stores Day of Thanks & Giving. Each year S&G founder Dan Ridi empowers store managers to choose a charity in their community that supports children and raise funds from customers. S&G matches the customer donation. This year, the event donated $165,000 to 50 different charities. $45,000 of that was donated by S&G customers. S&G Leadership selects additional charities to receive corporate donations. 

In an interview with the Toledo Blade, Mr. Ridi said, “In our first year, we gave $16,000. Last year, we gave $100,000 — and the event is still growing…and honestly that gives me more joy than success itself…Giving back to our community is one of our goals and our passion.”

IFB Executive Director Dr. Razi Rafeeq said of Mr. Ridi: “The most important thing about Dan is that he invests in the community. He is truly dedicated to uplifting the community he does business in. He is particularly invested in helping children.”

S&G Stores have made a $100,000 multi-year commitment to the Islamic Food Bank Pantry at Weiler Homes. IFB received the first donation at the event.
